Home Safety : Keeping our little ones safe
/Each year about 25 children aged 0-14 are killed and 58,000 are hospitalised by unintentional injuries. The kind we refer to as accidents.
I caught up with Carolyn Ziegler from Dreambaby to ask her for some top tips on getting our homes safe for our bubs, tots and pre-schoolers.
Here's some key take-aways:
- Get down on all fours and look up as if you were a crawler.
- Use child safety gates to keep pets away, or children away from certain areas.
- Keep the cot away from blind cords (and/or use cord wind ups).
- Secure furniture, TV screens, etc to stop them from falling.
