Carolyn (Caz) Simpson & Darren (Daz) Munro make up the Kangagang, who blazed onto the Children's Music Circuit in late 2013. The Kangagang have captivated and fired up the imaginations of both young and old with a Aussie bush themed show.
Their new CD "Outback in the Aussie Bush" is being released July 29th and I caught up with them to find out more about them and why they do what they do...
Caz & Daz started performing their shows in late 2013 and now The Kangagang is a full time job for both of them performing at kindys, schools, festivals, shopping centre's and libraries in northern NSW & QLD.
"We both have teenage children 15-17yrs so there's no problem fitting our very busy show schedule to perform for the children."
Caz decided to write children's music to "educate them about our wonderful Australian wildlife animals and our Bonza Aussie way of life as children should sing and learn about our animals in our Australian backyard."
"We perform our music for nursery children to 12 yrs but in saying this all age groups young and young at heart enjoy listening and it certainly gets everyone's toes tapping. Our music has a touch of country roots, blue grass influences with a twist of Australian themed characterization, Which has a 100% original sound."
"The best part of creating music for children is the joy it brings to their world, educating them about our unique Australian animals and our way of life here in Australia, They simply love to interact during our shows by singing, dancing, playing Aussie bush instruments and dressing up in our fabulous Aussie animal costumes it is very rewarding for both of us to see their faces light up when we perform."
Both Caz and Daz believe music is very important for children as it gives them a way to express themselves through song, dance and learning.
The Kangagang won a Qld music award 2015 for Hungry Crocodile Chomp. Congrats guys, that's awesome!!!
The Kangagang's future goals are to create animations to their music and publish a series of children's reading book's and last but not least to take their Great Aussie product to the rest of Australia and Internationally.
