Heading to the tropics, or escaping to the snow these holidays?
Don't miss out on these top tips to ensure your safe travels.
Little Rockers Radio caught up with Carolyn from Dreambaby to ask for some of her top safety tips when traveling with kids. Take a listen here...
Carolyn's top tips:
- Conduct a quick 5-minute safety check when you arrive.
Is there a balcony (remove furniture), hop on all fours and view the room from a child perspective (are there any objects from previous guests that the cleaners have missed)? Is the bedding safe, do you need to push it against a wall or pop a chair next to it to avoid night time falls?
- Remember the weather and its effects.
Keeping cool, staying hydrated, sunscreen.
- Take a mini first aid kit.
It's a good idea to have the basics with you and to also take the medicine (i.e. panadol) your child is used to, just in case it's needed.
- Take along some safety pieces.
Power outlet covers, removable covers that are easy to install and remove on cupboards or corners.
- Check your travel insurance.
